PSR Announces the Appointment of Marlene Cassidy, Esq. as its President |

Pop Starz Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSRZ) an operator of dance training centers currently concentrating on the musical genre popularly referred to as Hip Hop and Pop, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Pop Starz Records Inc. has appointed Marlene Cassidy, Esq. (“Cassidy”) as its President.
Pop Starz Records is engaged in the business of developing, producing, licensing, acquiring and distributing recorded music, primarily in the popular Hip Hop and Pop genres. In the future the company intends to branch into other popular music styles as opportunities are developed by its new President and her team and through its relationship with its parent, Pop Starz.
An entertainment attorney for 16 years, Cassidy cut her teeth in |
artist management with Abe Hoch, renowned Led Zeppelin manager and managing director of their label “Swan Songs” in the UK. Later, as VP of Music Publishing and Legal and Business Affairs for Caliente Entertainment (a joint venture with Atlantic Records), she acquired, produced and marketed Cuban music in the United States (Caliente’s top artist, Los Van Van, won a Grammy during her tenure).
From 2001 until today, Cassidy has successfully established her own entertainment law practice. Her clients include artists, songwriters, music producers, TV and film companies, record companies and publishing companies.
Cassidy’s largest client is Universal Music Latin America, the operating company within UMG that is responsible for managing Hispanic repertoire from Latin America, Spain and Portugal in the United States, including Universal Music Latino, UMG’s operating company for managing Latin repertoire in the United States, and Machete Music, the operating company within UMG that manages Urban Latin repertoire in the U.S. She has combined experience and close personal relations in the areas of entertainment, media, intellectual property and corporate transactions, and with her connectable skills, knowledge and experience, Cassidy will provide the highest quality of service to Pop Starz Records.
Cassidy’s principal responsibility will be to provide leadership, direction, and guidance for all Pop Starz Records’ activities. “Pop Starz Records is building a team of visionary and dynamic leaders committed to setting the standard for excellence and innovation in the entertainment industry.
