The Next Pop Star Announces Celebrity Judges: Joss Stone, Aubrey O’Day to Join Betty Wright and Other Industry Professionals Adding Excitement to Auditions
Pop Starz Productions, Inc., an affiliate of Pop Starz, Inc.   (Pink Sheets: PSRZ - News) announced today the addition of two celebrity guest judges at upcoming auditions for its new televised reality vocal competition, The Next Pop Star (bethenextpopstar.com). Two-time triple Platinum award winning singer/songwriter, Joss Stone and Platinum award winning Pop singer Aubrey O’Day of Danity Kane have agreed to join an already impressive panel of judges to select contestants for The Next Pop Star. Multiple Grammy-award winning recording artist, vocal producer and vocal coach Betty Wright along with finalist for the 2004 National competition entitled “Fame” for “triple threat” performers (singing, dancing & presentation) Moy, and former V.P of A&R – International Publishing for Warner Chappell Music, Patrick Conseil, round out the “dream team” of judges for the competition.

Since emerging on the music scene a scant two years ago, with her Soul Sessions EP, Joss Stone has made major waves in the pop music world. Stone won a 2007 Grammy Award for "Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals" for her collaboration with Sly & the Family Stone, John Legend, and Van Hunt on "Family Affair." Joss Stone guest judge at the September 30th audition at Jazziz at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

As one of five winners of P Diddy’s “Making the Band 3,” Aubrey O’Day’s first album was certified platinum from RIAA in November 2006. The album's lead single "Show Stopper," produced by Jim Jonsin, was released to radio on August 4, 2006, and subsequently debuted at number 17 on Billboard's Hot 100. Aubrey will guest judge at the October 6th audition at Yuca on Lincoln Road in South Beach.

Both Stone and O’Day will use their experience and expertise to help choose the approximate 60 contestants that will be called back to pursue their dream.

Thirty participants from those called back will earn a spot in the Showcase round of the competition. In the Showcases, the contestants will take the stage again to try to “wow” the judges and only the very best will advance to the semifinals. The remaining ten contestants will leave the comfort of the studio behind and “hit the road” for ten days of performances and more challenges that will test their abilities so they can prove they have what it takes to succeed in the music industry.

The remaining two contestants will battle it out in front of a live audience for the title of “The Next Pop Star” and there choice of either a $100,000 recording contract with Pop Starz Records or a $2,500 cash prize. The television program will be broadcast for thirteen weeks, premiering in January 2008 in the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County areas on television and the web. The Finale is slated for March 29, 2008 in Miami.

The Next Pop Star auditions will take place on Sunday, September 30, 2007, at Jazziz Bistro, located at the Paradise Shops at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Yuca, on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.
